My entrance into the field of Japanese animation (or anime) started when I was watching the dub of Sailor Moon on TV. I was interested in the storyline, liked the animation style and wanted to learn more about Sailor Moon and the genre. I then did a search on the Internet and was lucky enough to eventually end up at Hitoshi Doi's site which contains a lot of information about Sailor Moon and other anime.
Over two odd years later, I am on several anime related mailing lists, I have seen a fair amount of anime and have several otaku like tendancies (most obvious of all is the "anime" emoticons) ^_^;

I am co-administrating 100 Best Scenes of Fushigi Yuugi. Very nice series; I like FY a lot. As well, I am currently developing Ayashi no Ceres for Neophytes (really, I am -_-;).
I have been published three times for anime related things. Most recent is a letter to the editor in Animerica Extra 3-3. Preceding that is a feature on Fushigi Yuugi in Protoculture Addicts 58 and an article on Mixx Entertainment in Protoculture Addicts 53.
