Introduction

Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon is originally a Japanese manga (comic) written by Takeuchi Naoko. The manga was eventually developed into a animated series (anime) which lasted for over 5 years (1992-1997) and managed to get a fairly large following. This anime was then later brought over to North America in 1994 where it was translated by the DiC corporation (a subsidiary of the Walt Disney Corporation).

This site is designed to serve as a guide for those unfamiliar with Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon (neophytes or newbies) and introduce some of the concepts of the original series. Due to this, by necessity, there are many spoilers for the series.

Site Guide

For ease of use and organisation, this site has been broken down into seven main sections:

The "Synopses" section is the origin of the site. This set of pages was originally created in an attempt to help out neophytes. This section contains links to every original Japanese episode synopsis that is currently published on the Web.

The "Series Summaries" section contains overall summaries of each of the five series of Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon. The difference between this section and the "Synopses" section is that the "Synopses" section contains a summary for each episode while this section is the overall series summary. Essentially, "Synopses" is micro while "Series Summaries" is macro.

The "Characters" section contains information on each of the Senshi; the information given is based on the original. As well, there is a "Conversion Table" for those unfamiliar with the Japanese names and a listing of the various attacks used in the anime.

The "Mailing Lists" section contains information on the major Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon mailing lists in existance with information on how to subscribe and un-subscribe.

"Miscellanea" refers to anything that does not fit anywhere else. In the "Miscellanea" section, there are explanations of inside jokes, a listing of various fan clubs in existence, comments on site design, awards won and copyright statements.

"Links" is a short listing of the more important and interesting web sites; this list is fairly short due to the high standards demanded.

"Search" is a search engine for this site.

Mirrors

It seems as if the webjump mirror no longer exists. In the off chance that the freeservers.com address goes down, the referrer http://congly.cjb.net/anime/smoon/ will always point to the most current page.

Suggested Path

For anyone who is unfamiliar with Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon, a recommended path would be to first read a few series summaries (especially the first season) and then continue by reading about characters. After that, any other section of the site would be a good place to carry on; order does not particularly matter much after the first two sections.
