Usagi and Chibi-Usa are sitting on the edge of a fountain in a park. They're very happy, and they hold out their new brooches. Chibi-Usa says that now she's a real Sailor Senshi, but Usagi interrupts her cheerful mood by slyly saying that she's ten years ahead of herself. Luna, with a very pissed off look on her face, yells at them to stop fighting, can't they do anything else? Artemis agrees, reminding them of their new enemy.
While they're talking, we see the Dead Moon headquarters with Zirconia and the Amazon Trio. Luna says that their new enemy is very mysterious, but Usagi says confidently that they can handle them, they're the Sailor Senshi.
This prompts Chibi-Usa to remark that she can see how Ami-chan-tachi became Sailor Senshi, but how did Usagi become one? Usagi makes a choking sound.
Luna with a funny look on her face agrees; she wasn't sure of Usagi as a senshi either at first. Chibi-Usa wants to know the story of how Usagi became Sailormoon; Luna begins even though Usagi protests vehmently.
We cut to a scene of the first episode where Usagi is lying on her bed. (Luna says that Usagi had just failed a test in school.) Usagi suddenly sees Luna, jumping off the bed in shock. (Usagi defends herself by saying that she was taken by surprise since the cat just suddenly started talking.)
Usagi is indeed in shock at a talking cat. We next see Luna flipping backwards, a brooch falling onto the bed which Usagi picks up, puts on her uniform, and examines. Luna tells Usagi that she and the Sailor Soldiers might find their princess; Usagi's in a giddy mood, not really listening to her, so Luna tells her to say "Moon Prism Power, Make-Up," which Usagi does. Usagi transforms.
(Luna says that Usagi was supposed to be Sailor Moon, the senshi whom she was looking for but...) Moon is in her first battle at the jewelry store, surrounded by the brainwashed women. She falls down and sees that she's bleeding; she starts to cry. (Chibi-Usa says that Usagi's still the same; Usagi protests that it was her first battle.)
Scenes of Beryl in the Dark Kingdom's headquarters. (Usagi says that the Dark Kingdom was behind these monster attacks. Artemis says that Usagi had some strong friends though, and Usagi agrees, naming each of her senshi friends.) Next we see past Sailormoon freaking out after she has just transformed for the first time. (Usagi says that none of the senshi really knew how to deal with being a senshi at first; Artemis, Luna, and Chibi-Usa all shout, "That was just you!" Usagi cries that's why she didn't want to talk about the past.)
Scene switches to the first battle where Tuxedo Kamen saves Moon with his rose. (Luna says that they weren't sure if he was their ally or enemy, but Usagi is quick to defend him, saying he had his reasons.) The scene is now in the elevator with Mamoru and Usagi; Usagi asks Mamoru about the rainbow crystals but is embarrassed that she asked. Mamoru answers saying he has to find out about his past and must get the silver crystal. (Usagi recalls how Mamo-chan was in an accident where he lost his memory; he only had dreams of a girl pleading him to find the ginzuishou.)
Zoicite tells Sailor Moon that he'll finish her and Tuxedo Kamen; Moon is confused, Tuxedo Kamen isn't here. But then Mamoru transforms into Tuxedo Kamen and says he'll fight Zoicite. Zoicite then uses the crystal shard on Moon, but Tuxedo Kamen runs in front of it. He collapses, and Moon is crying; the Inner Senshi arrive, too late. A tear drops from Moon's eye and the rainbow crystals join it, forming the silver crystal. Moon then transforms into Princess Serenity.
(Usagi explains that there used to be kingdom on the moon during the Silver Millennium; she was the princess and Mamoru was Prince Endymion of Earth.
However, the Dark Kingdom had taken over Earth and invaded the moon kingdom.) Scenes of the Moon Kingdom being destroyed. (Artemis explains that Queen Serenity sent the people of the moon to the future earth to be reborn. Chibi-Usa says that Usagi and Mamoru were meant to be because of past lives.) We see Sailormoon standing in the North Pole. (Usagi says that it's still the duty of the senshi and the princess to protect the Earth, even with the moon kingdom gone.) The next scenes are of the Inner Senshi dying from episode 45. (Usagi says how her friends helped her, giving her courage and strength; she couldn't cry anymore.) Princess Serenity is fighting against Queen Beryl. Beryl asks why she's resisting, and Serenity says because she believes in everyone. The Inner Senshi's spirits join the princess and they combine their powers to destroy Beryl.
(Chibi-Usa is impressed, saying only coachroaches could survive that battle, and Usagi is obviously annoyed.) Mamoru and Usagi from second arc R are sitting in a row boat in the lake. [I guess first arc wasn't really that important. ;)] (Usagi tells Chibi-Usa that she risked her life for Mamoru- er, the Earth, so she deserves more respect. Luna says if Usagi had improved, then the Black Moon wouldn't have been a problem.) Usagi and Mamoru are kissing when Luna-P plops onto Mamoru's head; Chibi-Usa follows. (Chibi-Usa exclaims that this is when she arrived.)
The Black Moon is attacking Crystal Tokyo. (Artemis gives the background of what was happening; Chibi-Usa came to the past to find the silver crystal in order to help her mother.) We see the Ayakashi sisters. (Chibi-Usa agrees, remembering how she had thought that the missing silver crystal was her fault.) Wiseman is fighting against Neo-Queen Serenity. The silver crystal appears in front of Chibi-Usa, and then she in princess form and the Neo-Queen fight with the two silver crystals to destroy Wiseman. (Usagi says that with the power of their love, they won against the Black Moon; Chibi-Usa then says she did a lot against the Death Busters too, to which Usagi is doubtful of. Chibi-Usa counters that she became Sailor Chibi Moon.)
[Here's where we get a swarm of scenes from SMS. There's no real need to narrate these scenes since this special *is* only a few episodes after SMS ended; the audience is expected to remember all of this.] Sailor Chibi Moon does her little introduction. Then the Inner Senshi are fighting the gooey daimon things at Mugen Gakeun from the end of SMS. Uranus and Neptune fight against the daimon that posessed Tomoe. Lights appear out of Mugen Gakuen, destroying the black field around the area. Tomoe and Moon are screaming as the floor collapses, and Master Pharoah 90's cries of pain can be heard. Saturn tells Chibi-usa, "Thank you" before she disappears. Super Sailor Moon in a torn up outfit carrying baby Hotaru with a heart crystal in front of her is shown.
(Artemis says that was a hard battle, and Luna agrees. Luna suddenly remembers about Haruka and Michiru and wonders how they are.) Haruka and Michiru are driving off in their yellow convertible [the last we see of them in SMS].
Chibi-Usa and Usagi look at each other, cheeks red with evil grins. Usagi says, "Well, knowing those two..." as Artemis and Luna look exasperated. Everyone agrees with her statement, and we see a really cool picture of Haruka and Michiru before the second story begins.
